Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Today is a good day to make this announcement.
*clears throat loudly*
WE ARE HAVING A COMMUNITY HANGOUT! 🎉
And it is sooner than you expect.
Around this time last year, I went to Abuja and decided, on a whim, that I wanted to hangout with my Abuja community.
So what did I do? I put out a post asking people to come to the park, I bought snacks and drinks and off I went to the park with my friend not actually knowing if anyone would turn up.
But boy, did people turn up. And with snacks and games too!
We hung out, played games, took pictures, sang, danced, people even brought other people, we connected, followed each other and it was such a blast.
In retrospect, it is such a wild idea to have planned that sort of thing without a special program of events carefully laid out. If those people were not the absolute best, that Abuja hangout would have failed.
But it didn’t.
If anything, it remains one of my favourite memories till date.
I posted the pictures on Instagram and my community members in Lagos wanted to eat me alive because how could I leave Lagos and go and do hangout in Abuja? LMAOOO
Well, first of all, planning an event in Lagos (no matter how small) is not easy or cheap. We hardly have free parks and the traffic in this city is just disastrous. I knew that to successfully pull off a hangout in Lagos, I needed to plan it meticulously.
But we finally did it. The Lagos Hangout is finally happeninggggg and it’s for a limited number of people.
It will be happening on Friday, the 24th of May, 2024.
I would love to recreate the amazing time we had in Abuja so if you want to come for the event and you’re sure you’ll bring the right energy, fill this form here and you’ll be sent all the details.
Please only fill the form if you’re sure you can absolutely make it.
If you can’t, kindly let others that can, fill the form.
I am absolutely stocked and ready to do this with you guys! And this event is only for my newsletter family because you know how long we’ve been at this.
So let’s have a blast.
My song of the moment is this track that samples Brick & Lace’s Love Is Wicked and I am so sure I am going to be listening to it all day today.
Mainland or Island? you know Lagos is divided into 2 😉
can we virtually connect from the abroad? 🥹🥹
